Diskit Monastery, also known as Diskit Gompa, is the oldest and largest monastery in the Nubra Valley region of Ladakh.
It was founded by Changzem Tserab Zangpo in the 14th century. The monastery belongs to the Gelugpa (Yellow Hat) sect of Tibetan Buddhism.
Situated on a hill above the floodplains of the Shyok River, Diskit Monastery offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, including the expansive Nubra Valley.
