Lamayuru - Phanzi-La (6-7 hours)

Descend to the gorge below Lamayuru, hike downstream for a few km. Enter the side valley at a prominent chorten and ascend to Prinkiti-La (3'506m, 11'502ft). Through a canyon, reach the wide green Shilakong valley and the village of Wanla, cross the river and ascend gradually to the village of Phanzi-La. O/N in tent.


Phanzi-La - Kongske-La (6 hours)

Trek up to the Ripchhar valley, crossing the river a few times, reach the village of Hanju/Halsi. Proceed on an easier trail through a few small summer encampments and pastures to reach the base of Kongske-La. O/N in tent.


Kongske-La - Sumda Chenmo (6-7 hours)

Steep ascent to the Kongske-La (4'570m, 14'995ft), view of Sumda Chenmo village in the distance, and Stok Kangri range to the East. Steep descent to the floor of Sumdo water cross, follow the stream to camp site. O/N in tent.


Sumda Chenmo - Sumda Chun (7-8 hours)

Trek down stream of the Sumdo river through the tangled and wooded gorge to reach Sumda Chenmo. O/N in tent. 


Sumda Chenmo - Alchi (6-7 hours)

Start early in the morning to climb to the Stakspi-La. Steep descent to a herder's summer camp, and easy trail towards Alchi. Visit beautiful Alchi monastery. O/N in Guest House/Hotel.
