His Holiness will give two days of teachings on Gyalsey Thokme Sangpos’s Thirty-Seven Practices of a Bodhisattva (laklen sodunma) in the mornings for Tibetan Youth at the Main Tibetan Temple.
His Holiness will confer the Avalokiteshvara Initiation (chenresig jigten wangchuk wang) in the morning at the request of Dzonga Choede Monastery at the Main Tibetan Temple.
His Holiness will attend a Long Life offering prayer given to him by two groups in the morning at the Main Tibetan Temple.
His Holiness will attend a Long Life offering prayer given to him by former staff of the Central Tibetan Administration in the morning at the Main Tibetan Temple.
His Holiness will give four days of teachings and continue last year's topic on Buddhapalita's Commentary on the Fundamental Wisdom of the Middle Way (drel-pa Buddhapalita) in the mornings at the request of a group from Asia.
His Holiness will give four days of teachings at the request of Taiwanese.
His Holiness will give three days of teachings at the request of Koreans.
On December 28 and 29 mornings, His Holiness will give teachings on Shantideva's A Guide to the Boddhisattva's Way of Life (chodjug). On December 30 morning, His Holiness will confer an Avalokiteshvera Initiation (chenresig wang). On December 31 morning, His Holiness will attend a Long Life offering prayer given to him.
His Holiness will conclude the empowerments that he was not able to complete in Bodhgaya in December 2018 on The Wheel of Teachings on Manjushri Empowerments (jamyang choekhor) in the mornings.
Kalachakra in Bodhgaya, Bihar, India from January 3 to 14: His Holiness will be giving the Kalachakra at the request of the Kashag of the Central Tibetan Administration. During the first three days of the Kalachakra, from January 3 to 5, His Holiness the Dalai Lama, along with the monks of Namgyal Monastery and senior lamas, will conduct rituals which prepare and consecrate the venue. These include chanting of prayers, creation of the sand mandala and other rituals. From January 6 to 8, His Holiness will give preliminary teachings on Shantideva's A Guide to the Bodhisattva's Way of Life (chodjug) and Kamalashila's The Middling States of Meditation (gomrim barpa). On January 9, the Kalachakra Ritual Dance will be performed by the monks of Namgyal Monastery. His Holiness will confer the Kalachakra Initiation from January 10 to 13. On January 14, a long life empowerment (tsewang) and a ceremony offering prayers for the long life of His Holiness the Dalai Lama will be performed.
